Happy New Year, hope you all enjoyed a nice hol !
The new term will commence on Monday 8th January 2007, to Saturday 31st March.
The Half term hol, and therefore no classes - Saturday 10th and Monday 12th February.
Unfortunately, I have had to increase class fees due to Shire Hall rates having increased with immediate effect.
Saturday pay weekly cost is now £3.95
Monday pay weekly cost is now £4.00
There will be the advance payment option again (5% off half a term fees if paid at the beginning of the new term and 10% off the whole term –January to March).
1st Term – 13th Jan to 3rd Feb 4 Weeks for £15.01
2nd Term – 17th Feb to 31st Mar 7 Weeks for £26.27
1st Term – 8th Jan to 5th Feb 5 Weeks for £17.81
2nd Term – 19th Feb to 26th Mar 6 Weeks for £21.38
Well done to those who entered for the exams last term, we are still awaiting the results but I would like to say I was very impressed with the conduct and high standard of grooming on the day. We had a very important examiner and I was proud of the image portrayed of the school. Well done and thanks to the dancers, parents and helpers who made this happen.
There are still some exam classes and outfit hire fees outstanding, please can you settle these asap. Thank you.
We will be working on the show now, I do not plan on having a regular show class this time as I don’t want to disrupt class times, however I may call extra rehearsals if required. Show dances will be in class time as well as working on technique. There will be extra dances in the show again but not all children will be in them, those who work hard and attend regularly will be asked. This is to ensure that no-one is stretched too much and in more numbers than they can handle.
The show will be on Saturday 30th June 2007, matinee and evening performance as last year.
Please sign up for the Family Dance ! There aren’t enough names there yet ! Please put your names down if interested - Mums, Dads (that prize for the first brave Dad to sign up is still on offer), sons and daughters ! If there is enough interest I will let you know rehearsal times – I promise it will be easy (no harder than the workshop dances last August) and not a huge amount of rehearsal time needed.
The 2006 show DVD has been available for a few weeks but not many copies have been sold, please can you try and sell some otherwise it is not worth doing for the next show which is a shame, as in years to come it is a nice memento to look back on.
Please can you make sure all dancewear ~ shoes, leotards, wraps etc ~ have a name tag in. Thanks.

Dear pupils, parents and friends
Welcome back, hope you have had a great summer.
Thank you to those who supported the Family Dance Day ~ 19th August. I really enjoyed it and was very impressed by how much talent we have here – especially the Mums !! So much, that the idea mentioned to me that day of a Family Dance for the show has taken root ! Please put your names down if interested - Mums, Dads (that prize for the first brave Dad to sign up is still on offer), sons and daughters ! If there is enough interest I will let you know rehearsal times – I promise it will be easy (no harder than the workshop dances) and not a huge amount of rehearsal time needed.

Please note, due to Howden festival, classes on Saturday 9th, Monday 18th and Saturday 23rd September will take place in the Junior School. Please pass this message around to ensure everyone knows in advance. Thanks to Tessa at The Shire Hall for arranging this so we don’t have to cancel class as we have had to in the past.

Summer hols are nearly here !
There are two holiday dance activities taking place :-
Summer Star Theatre School ~ 24th to 28th July in York age 6 - 16
Family Dance Day ~ 19th August here at the Shire Hall – for all ages including Mums and Dads
Please pick up details/application forms or see me.
For those that may have missed it. we raised a grand total of £175.40 from the show for Cancer Research UK, (see www.123tandem.co.uk for info). They were delighted with our efforts. Thank you for my lovely surprise gifts too !
I am still missing 1 and a half pairs of legwarmers from the show – please return asap.

Dear pupils, parents and friends
A new term begins, and what a fab finish to the last one ! I hope everyone enjoyed the show, well done to all the performers – you made me very proud. And huge thanks again to all those who helped make it happen, we couldn’t do it without you as there are so many things to do, in preparation, and on the day itself. Thank you, I am looking forward to the next one !!
We raised a grand total of £175.40 for Cancer Research UK. The tandem ride was a success and the two cyclists arrived home, exhausted but happy, after cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats (see www.123tandem.co.uk for info). They were delighted with our efforts.
The new half term will commence on Saturday 22nd April to Monday 22nd May 2006.
No classes on Bank hol weekend (Sat 29th April and Mon 1st May)
The rest of the term runs from Saturday 3rd June to Monday 24th July 2006.
There will be the advance payment option again next term (5% off half a term fees if paid at the beginning of the new term and 10% off the whole term – April to July).
Rates as follows :-
1st Term – 22nd April to 20th May (no class 29th April 4 Weeks for £14.25
2nd Term – 3rd June to 22nd July 8 Weeks for £28.50
1st Term – 24th April to 22nd May (no class 1st May) 4 Weeks for £13.30
2nd Term – 5th June to 24th July 8 Weeks for £26.60
I am not planning an examination session this term, however if any medals or rosette candidates are ready we may have the option of joining another session in mid July. Watch this space. Otherwise, the next session will probably be in the Autumn.
